Best Family Shows in Las Vegas

Vegas for Kids (and their adults)
One of the most kid friendly things you can do in Las Vegas is go to a family-friendly show, and there are lots of them!
On any given day you can watch robot combat, trained rescue cats performing at Planet Hollywood, a dance crew in white masks doing things with their bodies that shouldn’t be physically possible, and two of the greatest magicians alive performing in the same city at the same time.
This guide covers family friendly shows in Las Vegas — organized by type so you can find the right show for your group’s ages and interests rather than just the most familiar name.
Table of Contents
A note on “family-friendly” in Las Vegas
All ages doesn’t always mean right for every age. A few things worth knowing before you book:
- Runtime matters for younger kids. Most Vegas shows run 70–90 minutes without an intermission — a long time for a restless 5-year-old. The afternoon comedy-magic shows (Mac King, Nathan Burton, Adam London) run 60–70 minutes and are paced for younger attention spans.
- All ages and recommended ages are different things. Several shows here are technically all ages but recommend 8+, 10+, or older because the content works better for those audiences. We’ve noted these throughout.
- Loud shows are worth flagging. BattleBots specifically recommends ear protection for young children. If your kids are sensitive to noise, that’s worth knowing in advance.
First: what kind of show do you want?
Family entertainment in Vegas breaks into a few lanes. Figure out yours and the list narrows quickly.
- Big production shows — Cirque du Soleil, Awakening at Wynn, Jabbawockeez. Large-scale, high-production spectacle that works for almost every age.
- Comedy and magic — the backbone of family Vegas entertainment. Several shows have been running for decades for good reason.
- Tribute and music shows — for families where the kids are old enough to love the artist.
- Variety shows — rotating acts, multiple performers, something for everyone in one sitting.
- Something completely unique — robot combat, pet theater, silent comedy. The shows that don’t fit anywhere else.

The big production shows
These are the marquee productions — large venues, high budgets, and the kind of scale that justifies the ticket price.
O by Cirque du Soleil
Bellagio · On the Strip · 5+ (under 16 with adult) · 90 min
O has been running at the Bellagio since 1998 and is still the show most Las Vegas visitors name when asked what they’d most like to see. The concept is a 1.5-million-gallon pool that becomes a stage — platforms rise and fall from the water, aerialists and synchronized swimmers share the same space, and the whole thing shifts between acts with transitions that genuinely defy explanation. The most visually spectacular 90 minutes in Las Vegas, and the one Cirque show you’ll hear people describe as a bucket list item. Not the right call for very young kids who won’t sit still for 90 minutes.
KÀ by Cirque du Soleil
MGM Grand · On the Strip · 3+ · 90 min
KÀ tells a story — twin siblings separated during an attack on their kingdom who must find each other again — which makes it the most narratively driven of the Cirque shows and the easiest for older kids and teens to follow. The theater was purpose-built for this production, with a 90-foot vertical stage that tilts, rotates, and becomes a battlefield. Martial arts, aerial combat, sand animation. The 3+ rating is the most permissive of the Cirque shows, but the battle sequences run intense — best for kids who can handle action-movie energy.
Mystère by Cirque du Soleil
Treasure Island · On the Strip · 5+ (under 16 with adult) · 90 min
The longest-running Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas — open since 1993. Where KÀ has a narrative and O is built around water, Mystère is Cirque at its most purely joyful: colorful, fast-moving, and built around extraordinary physical feats rather than a heavy theme. The resident comic characters keep the energy light between acts, and the show is consistently cited as the most family-friendly of the three Strip Cirque productions. Often the most affordable of the five Vegas Cirque shows, making it the strongest value entry point.
Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil
Mandalay Bay · On the Strip · 5+ (under 16 with adult) · 90 min
Cirque’s MJ production has been running at Mandalay Bay since 2013 and holds some of the highest review scores of any show in Las Vegas. The decision not to cast an MJ impersonator was a smart one — the show uses his original recordings and builds acrobatic sequences around them, so the music is always the real thing. Works for families where the kids know the catalogue; the Cirque format means it doesn’t require prior knowledge to enjoy.
Awakening
Wynn Las Vegas · On the Strip · 5+ · 80 min
Wynn’s marquee production performs in a custom 360° in-the-round theater that puts the audience inside the story rather than watching from the front — aerialists, acrobats, dancers, and large-scale visual effects built around a fantasy hero’s journey. Consistently among the highest-production shows in the city, and the Wynn venue adds to the experience. Runs 80 minutes.
Jabbawockeez
MGM Grand · On the Strip · All Ages · 70 min
The world-famous masked hip-hop dance crew — Season 1 winners of America’s Best Dance Crew, four-time Best All Ages Production winners in Las Vegas. Their current show is 70 minutes of choreography, comedy skits, LED production, and high-energy performance that holds kids and adults equally. No words needed, no prior knowledge required. Kids under 3 sit on laps free; ages 4 and up need a ticket.
Blue Man Group
Luxor · On the Strip · 3+ · 90 min
Blue Man Group has been part of the Las Vegas landscape long enough that parents who saw it as kids are now bringing their own. The show mixes percussion, paint, audience participation, and visual comedy with no dialogue and no clear narrative — pure sensory experience, which makes it accessible for young kids and genuinely engaging for adults who’ve outgrown entertainment that talks down to them. The 90-minute runtime is the longest ask for younger kids; the energy stays high enough that most handle it. Under-3s sit on laps free.
Comedy and magic
The strongest category for families in Las Vegas. Several of these shows have been running for decades, which says something about how consistently they deliver.
Mac King Comedy Magic Show
Excalibur · On the Strip · 5+ · 70 min
Mac King holds a record no other Las Vegas performer can claim: the longest-running one-man show in Las Vegas history. Penn & Teller — who have seen every magician working — called him “the greatest comedy magician at least alive today” on Fool Us. The show is warm, folksy, and hilariously funny for adults and kids in equal measure. Runs afternoons. One of the best value shows on the Strip, and the default family magic recommendation for most people who’ve seen it.
Nathan Burton Comedy Magic Show
Showcase Mall · On the Strip · All Ages · 70 min
Multiple America’s Got Talent appearances and voted #1 Afternoon Magic Show in Las Vegas. Big visual illusions at a family-friendly pace — G-rated throughout, kids 3 and under lap-sit free, and daily showtimes with afternoon and early evening options. One of the most reliably kid-appropriate shows on the Strip and a strong budget option.
Popovich Comedy Pet Theater
Planet Hollywood · On the Strip · All Ages · 60 min
Gregory Popovich has been performing his Comedy Pet Theater in Las Vegas for over 20 years — a 60-minute show featuring his troupe of trained rescue cats, dogs, and doves performing alongside acrobats and comedy acts. A multi-award-winning circus artist and international touring veteran, Popovich delivers the kind of animal-plus-acrobatics format that gets kids talking for the rest of the trip. The 60-minute runtime is the most forgiving on younger attention spans.
TAPE FACE
MGM Grand · On the Strip · All Ages · 90 min
New Zealand comedian Sam Wills performs 90 minutes of completely silent physical comedy using props, escalating absurdity, and audience participation. No words, no setup-punchline structure — just full commitment to a bit until the room can’t breathe. He’s appeared on America’s Got Talent and toured internationally, and the MGM Grand residency is the fullest version of the format. Genuinely funny for every age in the room simultaneously, which is rarer than it sounds.
MARC SAVARD Comedy Hypnosis
Showcase Mall · On the Strip · All Ages · 70 min
Marc Savard has been headlining on the Strip for over 15 years. Willing audience volunteers come on stage, get hypnotized, and the unscripted chaos that follows is the entire show. MTV called it “the funniest show ever” — the all-ages format makes this the most accessible hypnosis option in the city, and the Showcase Mall location puts it on the Strip without a casino attached.
Piff the Magic Dragon
Flamingo · On the Strip · 8+ · 75 min
The Magic Castle’s 2024 Magician of the Year, multiple Best of Las Vegas winner in both magic and comedy. British magician John van der Put performs in a dragon suit with a Chihuahua sidekick, and the deadpan comedy is genuinely funny — not “for a magic show” funny, but properly funny. Strong magic behind the laughs. The 8+ rating makes it one of the more family-appropriate options on the Flamingo’s calendar.
Mat Franco
The LINQ · On the Strip · 5+ · 90 min
The first magician in America’s Got Talent history to win the competition. His show “Magic Reinvented Nightly” has earned Best Magic Show at the Best of Vegas Awards and holds a top-rated Tripadvisor ranking. Warm, charming, and built around genuine audience interaction — good for families where the adults want a polished headliner show and the kids want something interactive.
Shin Lim
The Venetian · On the Strip · 4+ · 90 min
The only act to win America’s Got Talent twice. His residency at the Palazzo Theatre is the most visually elegant magic show in Las Vegas — close-up sleight of hand scaled to a large theater, performed with cinematic precision and minimal words. Better for families with older kids who can appreciate the subtlety; younger children may not track what they’re watching closely enough to be fully engaged.
Penn & Teller
Rio · Off the Strip · 5+ · 90 min
Penn & Teller have been performing together for over 50 years and headlining at the Rio since 2001. They explain exactly how tricks work — and then fool you anyway. The show rewards attention and intelligence, which makes it one of the best picks for older kids and teens who are beyond the pure-wonder phase of magic and want to understand the craft. The post-show meet-and-greet is a genuine highlight.
Paranormal Mind Reading Magic
Horseshoe · On the Strip · 5+ · 75 min
French mentalist Frédéric Da Silva has built one of the highest-rated shows on the Strip. Predictions, mind-reading, and psychological illusions in a 75-minute format — better for families with older kids who find mentalism more interesting than traditional magic tricks.
Farrell Dillon at The Magicians Room
LINQ Promenade · On the Strip · 5+ · 75 min
Sleight of hand and genuine laughs in the intimate Magicians Room setting. Small room, interactive, and family-friendly throughout. A strong LINQ Promenade option for families who want something with less of a production budget and more of a close-up magic feel.
Matt Donnelly the Mind Noodler
LINQ Promenade · On the Strip · 5+ · 75–90 min
Comedy-forward mind reading at The Magicians Room. The 4:30pm showtime makes it the easiest afternoon comedy-magic option along the LINQ Promenade — good for families who want something before dinner.
Adam London Laughternoon
Ahern Hotel · Off the Strip · All Ages · 60 min
Light magic, audience interaction, and a goofy sense of humor in a 60-minute format designed for daytime family audiences. Off-Strip at Ahern Hotel, one of the most affordable options on the list. The 60-minute runtime is the most forgiving for very young kids, and the show works for grandparents and adults equally.
House of Magic
Silver Sevens · Off the Strip · All Ages (PG-13, minors with adult) · 75 min
A rotating lineup of comedy magicians, illusionists, and variety performers in an intimate off-Strip showroom. Inspired by the legendary Magic Castle in Hollywood — a different act each time, with resident headliner Michael DeSchalit holding it together. Good for families who want to see multiple styles of magic in one sitting and don’t need a Strip address.
Allstars of Magic
Planet Hollywood · On the Strip · All Ages · 75 min
A multi-magician afternoon showcase at the V Theater — illusions, comedy, mentalism, and interactive tricks from a rotating cast rather than a single headliner. Light, accessible, and well-paced for mixed-age groups. Good afternoon option on the Strip.
David Goldrake
LINQ Promenade · On the Strip · 5+ · 90 min
A Luxembourg-born illusionist with a sophisticated, European approach to theatrical magic. His show is more classically theatrical than the comedy-magic shows above, and better suited to families with older kids who appreciate scale and presentation over interactivity.
Variety shows
V – The Ultimate Variety Show
Planet Hollywood · On the Strip · All Ages · 75 min
Running at the V Theater since 2001, one of the longest-running variety shows in Las Vegas. A rotating cast of specialty acts — acrobats, jugglers, comedians, quick-change artists, and others — moves through 75 minutes of short, punchy segments. The variety format works well for mixed-age groups because if any one act doesn’t land, the next is two minutes away. Consistently one of the most affordable all-ages shows on the Strip.
WOW! The Vegas Spectacular
Rio · Off the Strip · 4+ · 90 min
Aerial acrobatics, quick-change artistry, large-scale illusions, and comedy in a 90-minute production show at the Rio Showroom. More polished than a standard variety show and a step up in production budget — the quick-change sequences in particular regularly stop the room. Off-Strip pricing makes it a strong value for what you get.
BattleBots Destruct-A-Thon
Horseshoe · On the Strip · All Ages (recommended 6+) · 75 min
The first permanent, daily robot combat show in Las Vegas — fan-favorite robots from the hit TV series competing in live, unscripted fights inside the BattleBox, with real sparks, real metal-on-metal impacts, and real engineering decisions happening in front of you. Nothing else in Las Vegas is remotely like this. Recommended for ages 6 and up; toddlers 2 and under sit free on a lap, but ear protection is strongly recommended for young children — it is a genuinely loud show.
Tribute and music shows
These work best for families where the kids are old enough to know and love the artist. The age floor here isn’t about content — it’s about whether the music means something to the people in the room.
Australian Bee Gees
Excalibur · On the Strip · 5+ · 90 min
Over 4,500 Las Vegas performances across 22 years, with a live band and harmonies that hold up under close listening. Winner of Best Tribute Show from the Las Vegas Review-Journal. For Bee Gees fans of any age, this is the one.
Carpenters Legacy
Planet Hollywood · On the Strip · All Ages · 75 min
Seven-time Best of Las Vegas winner, including Gold for Best Impersonator — and the featured entertainment for the Carpenters’ own 50th and 55th Anniversary Celebrations. For families who grew up with Karen and Richard Carpenter’s music, a genuinely moving tribute.
MJ Live
Harrah’s · On the Strip · 5+ (under 18 with parent or guardian) · 70 min
The self-billed #1 Michael Jackson tribute in the world — rotating cast of tribute artists, live band, step-for-step choreography, and 70 minutes of the catalogue from Off the Wall through Bad through Thriller. Best for families where MJ is already part of the kids’ listening life.
The King Comes Home
Westgate · Off the Strip · 5+ · 90 min
An Elvis tribute at the venue where Elvis himself performed over 600 shows between 1969 and 1976. The venue connection makes this the most historically grounded Elvis tribute in Las Vegas — the room you’re sitting in is part of the story. Good for families where Elvis means something.
All Shook Up
Alexis Park · Off the Strip · All Ages · 70 min
One of the longest-running Elvis tribute shows in Las Vegas, at the intimate Athena Showlounge at Alexis Park. High-energy, live band, and a strong impersonator in a room small enough that every seat feels close. Off-Strip value.
Soul of Motown
Westgate · Off the Strip · 5+ · 90 min
Live tribute to the golden era of Motown — Temptations, Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder — with live band energy in an intimate showroom. Best for families where the adults want Motown and the kids are old enough to be swept up by it.
All Motown
Alexis Park · Off the Strip · All Ages (recommended 8+) · 70–75 min
Las Vegas’s only all-female Motown show — the Duchesses of Motown performing 70–75 minutes of harmonies, choreography, and classic hits. One of the best off-Strip values in Vegas for music-focused families.
Motown Extreme
Motown Extreme Theater · Off the Strip · All Ages · 80 min
A family-owned and Black-owned theater about 10 miles south of the Strip, directed by Grammy Award-winner Felton Pilate. Broadway-musical energy with Motown live-concert delivery — high-energy impersonations, a full live band, and a room where performers and audience are genuinely close. For families willing to go off the Strip for something more intimate and community-rooted.
Ikons of Rock
Hard Rock Cafe · On the Strip · 5+ · 90 min
Opened January 2026 with a rotating cast of 50+ performers covering Ozzy Osbourne, KISS, Heart, Van Halen, Alice Cooper, Queen, Rob Zombie, and more — no two shows exactly alike. Strong early reviews. For families who love classic rock.
VEGAS! THE SHOW
Planet Hollywood · On the Strip · All Ages · 75 min
A fast-moving tribute to the history of Las Vegas entertainment — Rat Pack, Elvis, Liberace, showgirls, and the golden age of the Strip — at the Saxe Theater inside Miracle Mile Shops. More of an overview than a deep dive into any one artist. Good for families where multiple people want different things, and for anyone curious what Vegas entertainment looked like before the mega-resorts.
Twist & Shout: The Beatles Tribute
Ahern Hotel · Off the Strip · All Ages · 75 min
A full-catalog Beatles tribute at the Ahern Live Showroom — early Merseybeat through Abbey Road, with the staging and attention to detail that Beatles fans notice. Off-Strip at Ahern Hotel near the Convention Center keeps prices lower than comparable Strip tributes.
Piano Man
Planet Hollywood · On the Strip · All Ages · 75 min
Kyle Martin’s tribute to Billy Joel and Elton John — and Martin was hand-picked by Billy Joel himself for the “Movin’ Out” touring production. Winner of the 2024 Best Family Friendly Show from the Las Vegas Review-Journal. For families who love either or both artists.
Sinatra Live! Starring Michael Sinatra
Alexis Park · Off the Strip · All Ages · 70 min
An intimate Sinatra tribute at Alexis Park’s Alexis Garden showroom — designed to evoke the Sands Hotel supper clubs of 1960s Las Vegas. Best for families where the adults grew up with Sinatra.
Sir Elton – At the Piano
Alexis Park · Off the Strip · All Ages · 70 min
A dedicated Elton John tribute with the piano front and center — 70 minutes of live musicianship in an intimate showroom at Alexis Park. For Elton John fans who want the music in a room where you can actually hear the piano.
King of Diamonds – The Neil Diamond Tribute
Alexis Park · Off the Strip · 5+ · 70 min
Rob Garrett has been performing as Neil Diamond for 30 years — longer than any other tribute artist in Las Vegas. Since Neil Diamond stepped back from performing, Garrett’s show has become the closest thing available to the real thing for Diamond fans.
Queen Selena
Alexis Park · Off the Strip · All Ages (recommended 5+) · 70 min
Las Vegas’s only dedicated Selena Quintanilla tribute — bilingual, full-band, at the intimate Pegasus Showroom at Alexis Park. For families where Selena’s music is part of the household.
All Tina and Whitney
LaMarre Theater · Off the Strip · All Ages · 60 min
Carolyne Scott — Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year — tribute to Tina Turner and Whitney Houston at the intimate LaMarre Theater in the Arts District. 60 minutes, two legendary voices, one performer carrying the whole thing.
Elton John & The Beatles: Made in England
LaMarre Theater · Off the Strip · All Ages · 85 min
One performer — UK entertainer Danny Walten — moving between The Beatles and Elton John across 85 minutes at the intimate Stage Lounge at LaMarre Theater. For families who love both artists and want something in the downtown Arts District.
THE JETS 80s and 90s Experience
Planet Hollywood · On the Strip · All Ages · 75 min
The actual Grammy-nominated group — not a tribute — performing live at the Saxe Theater. For families who know the catalogue, this is as close to the real thing as it gets.
The dinner show
Tournament of Kings
Excalibur · On the Strip · All Ages · 90 min
Medieval jousting, knights on horseback, fire, and a whole roasted chicken you eat with your hands. You’re assigned to a kingdom section when you arrive and spend the evening cheering for your knight. The food is hearty and beside the point. The experience — live horses, crowd participation, and the kind of shared energy polished theater rarely creates — is the whole game. One of the most consistently kid-loved shows in Las Vegas, and a strong anchor for a full family dinner evening.
Marriage Can Be Murder Dinner Show
Rio · Off the Strip · 8+ · 120 min
Las Vegas’s longest-running dinner show — over 20 years. Interactive murder mystery theater with a 4-course dinner: a murder happens at a neighboring table and you help solve it over the meal. More comedy than suspense in practice. Better for older kids and teens who can follow the plot and participate in the mystery.
How to choose
- Very young kids (under 5): Popovich Comedy Pet Theater for the shortest runtime and gentlest content. Adam London Laughternoon for an affordable 60-minute off-Strip option. Nathan Burton for all-ages Strip magic with lap-sit for the youngest.
- Ages 5–8: Mac King for the warmest room and best adult-kid balance. Marc Savard for all-ages hypnosis. Tournament of Kings for a full dinner experience they’ll talk about for years.
- Ages 8–13: Jabbawockeez, Blue Man Group, and BattleBots reliably capture this age group. Mystère is the most family-friendly Cirque entry point.
- Teens: KÀ for action and narrative scale. Penn & Teller for intelligence and craft. Jabbawockeez for dance culture. TAPE FACE for something completely outside normal categories.
- Mixed age group: V – The Ultimate Variety Show and Jabbawockeez span the widest age ranges without asking anyone to compromise. Tournament of Kings works for every age at the table.
- On a budget: Nathan Burton, Mac King, Adam London, and V – The Ultimate Variety Show are among the most affordable. The off-Strip tributes at Alexis Park, Ahern Hotel, and LaMarre Theater offer strong quality at lower prices than Strip equivalents.
