Las Vegas Shows in October

October is one of the best months to see a show in Las Vegas. The weather starts to cool down, Halloween is in the air, and major headliners including Metallica, Josh Groban and Keith Urban have dates in town. You’ll also find several spooky Vegas shows that play year-round but feel especially fitting for Halloween weekend. Add more than 100 resident productions, touring concerts and comedy headliners, and the entertainment lineup in Las Vegas this October is scary big.

Best October Shows for Adults

Planning an adults-only night out? These three shows deliver very different versions of Vegas: outrageous variety, a high-energy male revue and uncensored stand-up comedy. Pick the one that fits your group—or make a weekend out of all three.

Absinthe at Caesars Palace

Absinthe Las Vegas show at Caesars Palace

Best overall adult show. Absinthe mixes circus acts, raunchy comedy and jaw-dropping stunts inside an intimate tent outside Caesars Palace. It is bold, unfiltered and very Vegas.

Magic Mike Live at SAHARA

Magic Mike Live Las Vegas show at SAHARA

Best for a girls’ night or celebration. Magic Mike Live is more polished stage production than traditional male revue, with dancing, aerial acts, comedy and plenty of audience interaction. It is an especially fun pick for birthdays and bachelorette trips. 18+.

Comedy Cellar at Rio

Comedy Cellar Las Vegas show at Rio Hotel & Casino

Best for stand-up comedy. The Vegas version of New York’s famous Comedy Cellar uses a showcase format, so you see several comedians instead of one long opening act and a headliner. The lineup changes, but the comedy is meant for adults and can get uncensored. 18+.

Halloween Shows in Las Vegas

Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026, making Friday, October 30 through Sunday, November 1 a full Halloween weekend in Las Vegas. Expect costumes on the Strip, themed parties and bigger weekend crowds. These three shows are spooky all year, but October is the perfect time to see them.

Haunted Brunch at Rio

Haunted Brunch Las Vegas show at Rio

Horror movies come to life through acrobatics, dance, dark comedy and live scares while you eat brunch. A bottomless-mimosa option is available for guests 21 and older. This is a weekend brunch rather than a nightly show, so check the schedule before making plans. It is a fun pick for birthday and bachelorette groups. Recommended ages 15+

Zombie Burlesque at Planet Hollywood

Zombie Burlesque Las Vegas show at Planet Hollywood

Zombie Burlesque combines campy B-movie horror, burlesque, live music and adult comedy in a retro atomic-era setting. If you like the playful, raunchy energy of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, this is the closest match on the Strip. 16+.

Ghost Stories at Mandalay Bay

Ghost Stories Las Vegas show at Mandalay Bay

Mentalist Kent Axell blends mind reading, dark magic and ghost storytelling inside a hidden room at the 1923 Prohibition Bar. It is small, moody and close-up, making it my pick for a Halloween date night. 21+.

Big Concerts and Residencies in October

October’s concert calendar is unusually strong, with major rock, pop and country performers playing Las Vegas. These are three of the biggest names coming to town; use the calendar above to see what else is playing during your trip.

  • Metallica: Life Burns Faster at Sphere — select dates throughout October. Metallica brings its No Repeat Weekend format to Sphere, with different setlists for the paired Thursday and Saturday concerts. The residency has shows scheduled throughout the month, including Halloween night. Please note Halloween date is sold out, so the only tickets left are resale.
  • Josh Groban: GEMS at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace — October 2, 3, 7, 9 and 10. Groban returns to Caesars Palace for five performances featuring fan favorites along with music from his newest album.
  • Keith Urban at BleauLive Theater — October 16 and 17. Keith Urban returns to Fontainebleau Las Vegas for two nights, making this a limited concert engagement rather than a monthlong residency.

Family Picks for Fall Break

Las Vegas has plenty of family-friendly entertainment once you know where to look. For fall break, I would choose one of these three depending on whether your family wants an interactive dinner show, comedy magic or a big Cirque production.

Tournament of Kings at Excalibur

Tournament of Kings Las Vegas show at Excalibur

Best dinner show for families. You eat with your hands while cheering for knights on horseback during jousting, sword fights and an arena-sized battle between good and evil. I have seen this one myself, and the cheering, action and included dinner make it especially easy to recommend for families.

Mac King Comedy Magic at Excalibur

Mac King Comedy Magic Show Las Vegas show at Excalibur

Best family magic show. Mac King combines clever magic with clean comedy in a smaller showroom where audience participation is part of the fun. It is funny enough for adults but easy for kids to follow. Guests must be at least 5 years old.

Mystère by Cirque du Soleil at Treasure Island

Mystère by Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas show at Treasure Island

Best first Cirque show. Mystère is colorful, funny and packed with the acrobatics people expect from Cirque du Soleil. It is also one of the more affordable Cirque productions in Las Vegas and works well for families seeing Cirque for the first time.

Tips for Seeing a Show in Vegas in October

  • Bring a light layer: October days can still feel warm, but evenings are cooler and Las Vegas showrooms can be chilly.
  • Book Halloween weekend early: Friday and Saturday performances usually fill first, especially when Halloween falls on a weekend.
  • Try a weeknight: Sunday through Thursday performances often give you more seating choices than Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Check the age requirement: Some shows allow teens, while others are strictly 18+ or 21+. Check the individual show page before booking for anyone under 21.
  • Leave extra travel time: A short distance on the Strip can take longer than expected, especially on concert nights. Try to arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes before showtime.

October Show FAQ

What are the best shows in Las Vegas in October?

For an adults-only Vegas night, my top pick is Absinthe. For families and first-time Cirque guests, choose Mystère. If you want an October-only event, Metallica at Sphere is the month’s biggest concert residency. Use the calendar above to see every show and concert playing during your dates.

Are there Halloween shows in Las Vegas?

Yes. Haunted Brunch at Rio, Zombie Burlesque at Planet Hollywood and Ghost Stories at Mandalay Bay all lean into horror, dark comedy or supernatural themes. They play beyond October, but Halloween weekend is an especially fun time to see them.

Are Vegas shows worth it for adults?

Yes. Las Vegas has one of the largest selections of adults-only entertainment anywhere, from circus comedy like Absinthe to burlesque, male revues, stand-up and close-up magic. Choose based on the kind of night you want: funny, sexy, spooky or spectacular.

Do I need to book Vegas shows in advance in October?

Book concerts, Friday and Saturday performances, and anything during Halloween weekend in advance. For many weeknight resident shows, you can wait until closer to your trip, but booking earlier gives you a better choice of seats.

What should I wear to a Las Vegas show in October?

Most Las Vegas shows do not have a formal dress code. Casual or dressy-casual clothing works for almost everything, but bring a light jacket or sweater for cool showrooms and the walk back to your hotel.
